Sugar Creek Outfitters is three ranches situated in west-central Illinois in Schuyler County. The terrain consists of rolling hardwood ridges and hollows interspersed with a number of corn, soybean, alfalfa, and winter wheat fields as well as specialized food plots.

Sound like great Whitetail habitat? You're right!

Combine the ideal setting with intensive deer management and the results are nothing short of impressive. With eight seasons in operation, Sugar Creek has produced numerous 170, 180, and 190 class Whitetail and even a number of 200+ class Whitetail! Our firm commitment to sound management practices ensures that Sugar Creek Outfitters will be able to offer this elite level of Whitetail hunting well into the future.

Sugar Creek Outfitters offers three areas for hunters to choose from; Sugar Creek I & II offer a semi guided hunt while Sugar Creek III offers a fully guided hunt.

Archery from tree stands is the primary method of hunting at Sugar Creek. Numerous stands are strategically located along field edges and routes to and from bedding and staging areas. A limited amount of ladder stands are available. In addition to tree stands, Sugar Creek offers 16 enclosed blinds equipped for scouting, observation, gun and bow hunting. A limited number of gun hunts are available to Illinois residents and non-residents. The State of Illinois begins accepting applications for the resident firearms lottery beginning in April and nonresident in June.

Sugar Creek Outfitters is also a licensed bird hunting preserve allowing us to offer pheasant and quail hunting in addition to turkey. The turkey population at Sugar Creek is exploding. We offer a limited number of turkey hunts each spring. Prime habitat and plentiful gobblers promise an exciting hunting experience.

Sugar Creek Outfitters has working ranches consisting of approximately 50% wooded areas and 50% fields. Fields are planted with corn, soy beans, alfalfa, clover, Sudan Grass, and other food plots vital to whitetail nutrition. The combination of this high protein diet, along with the superior genetics inherent to our region, and deer maturity create true monster bucks.

Sugar Creek Outfitters ranches offer World renowned Whitetail Hunting in the heart of central Illinois. We have experienced guides and mature trophy Whitetail bucks

All deer hunts include field prep of animal, transportation to local processor, food and accommodations and country style dining. Sugar Creek III offers a 1 x 1 professional guided experience.

At any Sugar Creek Ranch, only bucks with a minimum of 135 Boone and Crockett score may be harvested. Additionally, does may be taken.

All hunters should have their hunting licenses and archery permits before arriving at the ranch. Most deer hunting at Sugar Creek is by archery, although all State of Illinois season and hunting regulations apply at the ranch so there is a three-day gun season in late November and another in early December. There is no bow hunting allowed during the gun season. Nonresident deer permits are offered by Illinois in a limited supply, but those hunters that act early almost always get their tag. Our staff will be happy to guide you through the permit application process.
