the 411 on droptine20
Late start for the Hunt journal but...
Same as the rest of the farmers I have been working in the fields the last few weeks. We have all of the crops planted and the corn is sprayed.
So that leads to FOOD PLOTS
Got a start on one of the bigger plots we will have this year, it has been neglected for a few years and will require some extensive dirt work, but it
will be worth it.
On a different subject, I am proud to announce I have passed WI Hunter's Safety. I am going to get trained to be an instuctor and had to take the WI
course as the first step. I had fun and made some new friends. I think a couple of the other students may need someone to assist them with getting
their hunting careers started and may be lucky enough to Mentor them.
I think I was just as excited to pass the class this time as I was 24 years ago when I took it in IA.

I did find the only shed we found on the farm this year! It was just laying in the dirt on a food plot, right next to a Monster Raxx minersl site.

Congrasts on getting past the first hurdle in becoming an instructor. Were you the guy in the back of the room yelling "stop talking about these
stupid guns and get on to the bow section!"
You're a step ahead of me in progress in the fields. Corn and beans are all in but haven't sprayed the corn yet. It's been blowing like 30 mph
everyday since I finished up the beans. Now we have a chance of rain moving in this week. At least I can row my soybeans now. But we need rain very
very soon again.

The next step towards being a WI Hunter's Safety Instructor is on the calendar for Aug 3-4. I will be attending a course to get the training required
to become an Instructor.
As far as the fields go Mother Nature hates most Midwest farmers this year.
No news there.
I have been getting a few decent bucks on camera and will post them in a few hours. As I type this I have been home for about 30 hours in the last
week and a half, So the family needs some of my time.

Last week my oldest son and I went on his first overnight Cub Scout camping trip. We went to L.E. Phillips Scout Reservation near Haugen WI. It was
pretty good weather considering what the summer has had for us this year. Cole did very well, on the last day he had to row a boat around the lake
with just him and another scout. He had never done this before without me in the boat and did wonderful, proud dad here!!
Now for some deer action:
How about a pregnant doe in July

Some potential for when I draw that coveted IA tag

A little freak action

A couple that will probaly make the wall this year

My hunting season will begin the first week in September when I head north to Ontario to seek revenge on the bears that eluded me last year, and of
course it will be on film.
